COMPOSING THE FUTURE
The reverberation of the music from EARTH’S CALL will permeate COMPOSING THE FUTURE, the Two Day Convening in Aspen on May 19th and 20th, 2019. The foundational presence of the music in Aspen underscores the design of EARTH’S CALL and COMPOSING THE FUTURE.
COMPOSING THE FUTURE brings together world experts providing design-solutions in The Five Key Note areas requiring immediate attention: AIR, LAND, WATER, WILDLIFE, and HUMANKIND. The Chair of each Creative Dialogue Roundtable is an expert in its respective discipline, and the dialogues are led by renowned moderators – including Master of Ceremonies for EARTH’S CALL, Forrest Sawyer. Messengers and Musicians of Conscience from EARTH’S CALL will amplify the Creative Dialogue Roundtables with their presence.
COMPOSING THE FUTURE is Co-Hosted by Kinstep Founder, Tenzin Seldon, Aspen Institute architect Jeffrey Berkus, and Director of Protocol Jacqueline Lundquist, former First Lady to the United States Ambassador to India – collaborating in concert with close friends at The Aspen Institute, Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, Aspen Ski Company, Rocky Mountain Institute, and the City of Aspen.
At the conclusion of the three-day EARTH’S CALL / COMPOSING THE FUTURE, the ground game, TUNING THE PLANET, moves around the world via the EARTH’S CALL Mobile Unit to areas of most critical need, using music as the vehicle to raise awareness and funds at local levels.
EARTH’S CALL / COMPOSING THE FUTURE occurs annually, by design, moving to a different locale on the planet each year to galvanize awareness and support for the most urgent challenge humankind has ever faced: the health of our common home and the sustainability of the planetary species.
THE EARTH’S CALL FOUNDATION, established under the guidance of K + L Gates and Winston & Strawn, synchronizes all the programmatic activities and provides a secure base for future development of EARTH’S CALL productions in the critical years to come.
Accounting firm KPMG serves as auditor of EARTH’S CALL.

EARTH’S CALL FOUNDATION
The Earth’s Call Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to distribute 100% of the funds raised during EARTH’S CALL events to support global initiatives aimed at healing the planet.
The May 2019 concert and subsequent concerts will attract donors and sponsors by opening their hearts and minds to the mission of EARTH’S CALL (healing the planet).
The COMPOSING THE FUTURE team will help identify those global initiatives most powerfully positioned to heal the planet and work with the Foundation on how they might best distribute funds.
100% of any contribution will go directly to healing the planet. The Foundation overhead will be separately sponsored by others apart from the funds raised through the EARTH’S CALL concert campaigns thus ensuring all contributions will go directly to the carefully vetted projects.
The ECF website will show all funds raised, how they are being distributed, and display periodic progress reports in collaboration with other donor partners.
MUSIC IS THE MEDICINE TO BRING THE WORLD TOGETHER
Dr. Albert Schweitzer • The Aspen Institute Keynote Speaker • 1949
Dear Friends of Music,
Musicians have always answered the call. Throughout history, in times of crisis and celebration, musicians have offered their gifts of moving the heart, elevating the mind, and connecting us to each other.
Now, we face our greatest challenge: ensuring a healthy planet worthy of our children's inheritance.
A catalytic event is needed to bring us together to answer this call, an event that harnesses the musical voices of all the species of the world so that we can tune in together and fully experience the best of that which fulfills us most: compassion and love.
Our situation is beautifully expressed in the words sung by fellow musician Alan Parsons and his signature song, All our Yesterdays:
The stakes are high, we have to seize the chance
A case of do or die, this is our last dance
Racing to the future we must never lose our way
All we have to do is take tomorrow's chance today
EARTH'S CALL has the potential to be the collective witnessing event of our times. Your voice and presence will make it so.
Thank you for answering EARTH’S CALL
Yours in Music,
Michael D. Fitzpatrick
